Provides a recommendation network for applications, enabling developers to increase distribution and monetization while delivering the best applications to the right users. The SweetLabs story began in February of 2008, when Darrius, Adrian, Chester, Blake, Matt and Mark met in a San Diego coffee shop to try and figure out how they could pool their collective experience in software development and distribution to build a company that would empower developers.
From that discussion, the company then known as OpenCandy was born. The core idea behind OpenCandy was simple; help developers reach more users and make more money by powering relevant software recommendations during the download and install process for third-party applications. The OpenCandy Software Network grew quickly, attracting independent developers and huge software brands alike, and has now powered over 350 million application installations all over the world. June of 2011 saw the launch of Pokki, a platform that enables web developers to create awesome, connected desktop applications using standard web languages like HTML 5. Pokki brings the app experience to the desktop, offering users the ability to easily engage with their favorite web services beyond the confines of the browser.
