Nate Fick

Nate Fick joined Bessemer as an operating partner in 2011. He is chief executive officer of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), an independent research organization that develops innovative national security policies and cultivates outstanding talent in the field of foreign affairs.
 
At Bessemer, Nate has been involved with investments in defense and intelligence technologies.

Before joining CNAS, Nate served as a Marine Corps infantry officer, including combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. His 2005 New York Times best-selling book about that experience, One Bullet Away, was recognized as one of the “Best Books of the Year” by The Washington Post and one of the "Best Military Books of the Decade" by The Military Times.
 
He serves on the boards of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders.

Nate holds an AB in Classics from Dartmouth College, an MPA in international security policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is an avid fly fisherman and a certified sailboat charter captain.
