Shawn Hardin

Shawn Hardin is an Entrepreneur In Residence at Bessemer Venture Partners based in Menlo Park. He focuses on consumer internet, mobile, games and social media investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Bessemer, Shawn was the CEO of Flock, the award-winning Social Web Browser. Under his leadership, Flock became the #1 most popular desktop application on Facebook in 2010. Zynga acquired Flock in 2011.

Shawn has eighteen years of experience leading technology-driven entrepreneurial ventures, including as Head of Youth, Health, Lifestyles & Games for the Yahoo! Media Group, Senior Vice President for AOL Broadband, Chief Product Officer & Group General Manager for NBCi and co-founder of the NBC Television Network’s Interactive Division. Shawn also worked in Los Angeles as a filmmaker and cinematographer on more than seventy film and video productions. 

Shawn is a director member of the Directors Guild of America and he is an advisor to several companies. In the past he has also served on advisory boards for National Public Radio, the American Film Institute's Enhanced TV Program, and he was a founding member of the Producers Guild of America New Media Council. Shawn has also served as a board member for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, where he co-founded the Interactive Media Peer Group and oversaw creation of the first Emmy Award recognizing creative excellence in interactive media programming. Shawn is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
