Jonathan D. Klein
Jonathan Klein is an executive-in-residence at Bessemer Venture Partners New York City office. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jonathan moved to the United States in 1999 and is a citizen of both the United Kingdom and the United States and a member of The Council on Foreign Relations.
He has been the CEO of global digital media company, Getty Images, Inc. since he co-founded the company in March 1995. In October of 2015, he stepped into the role of co-founder and Chairman, after leading the company’s growth to a multi-award winning, billion dollar global e-commerce business. He is the recipient of numerous media, philanthropic and corporate honors including: Fast Company’s ‘Fast 50’ as a business leader ‘who will change the way we work and live over the next ten years,’ and was named number one of America’s Photo’s list of the ‘100 Most Important People in Photography.’
Jonathan sits and serves as the president of the board of trustees of Groton School, serves on the boards of Getty Images (Chairman), Etsy, Squarespace, Helix Sleep and Getty investments. He is a frequent speaker on leadership, culture and innovation and enjoys teaching and lecturing at many schools including Yale, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania.
