SJ is an entrepreneur-in-residence in the San Francisco office. In this role, he is studying problems at the intersection of security, developer tooling, and cloud infrastructure.
Previously, SJ was an investor at BVP, where he invested in information security, developer platforms, and cloud infrastructure, particularly software-defined networking. In this role, he drew on 15 years of product and engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service, software and hardware networking, and information security. He was a Board Observer for Bastille, Endgame, Kandou, Illusive Networks, Nominum, Reputation.com, Smule, and Team8, Internet Identity (acquired by Infoblox), and iSIGHT Partners (acquired by FireEye).
Prior to BVP, SJ led product management for Google Cloud Platform’s networking division. Previous to that, he was a senior product manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he launched Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, Amazon VM Import, and AWS Direct Connect. Prior to AWS, he was director of product management at Mandiant, where he was responsible for the overall product strategy. Before Mandiant, SJ held product and engineering leadership roles at both Arbor Networks and iDefense (a VeriSign division).
