Bessemer Venture Partners promotes Tomer Diari to Vice President

Tomer Diari is an investor supporting founders in deep and frontier technology spaces, where he focuses on technology infrastructure and the application of novel technologies in existing industries - from healthcare services through enterprise software to consumer internet and financial services.

At Bessemer we invest in people who strive to make an impact. Today, we are excited to celebrate the promotion of Tomer Diari, our newest vice president, who has made a significant contribution to our firm and founders, by employing his rigorous technical expertise and intellectual curiosity in frontier and deep technologies, such as cyber-security, data and AI.

“Tomer has distinguished himself through his intellect, technical skills, and relentless work on behalf of our portfolio companies,” says David Cowan, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “As examples of his leadership, Tomer heads up our initiatives in cybersecurity and quantum computing.”

“Tomer 's unique technology background puts him at ease in conversation with our most technical entrepreneurs and serves as a valuable asset to the wider Bessemer partnership,” says Adam Fisher, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners.

Tomer currently serves on the board of Rigetti Computing and as a board observer for Auth0, Axonius, Bastille Networks, Claroty, CyberGRX, Hysolate, Illusive Networks, Team8 and Virtru. Tomer has previously served as a board observer for Ctera, Distil Networks, Endgame, MyHeritage and Stratoscale. He has also served as the executive chairman of IMUNA, a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of global diplomatic leaders, and has spent the last five years as an executive board member of the Birthright Israel Excel Community.

“Tomer has been an excellent partner to us. He shares our intense passion for empowering developers to build better, more robust and more secure apps that improve the broader community,” says Eugenio Pace, co-founder and CEO at Auth0. “Tomer provides deep technical expertise, intellectual and business rigor, and an international perspective, to help us build developer-first technologies that simplify identity management.”

Tomer will continue to invest and build out Bessemer’s deep tech and frontier roadmaps. “Technology is the greatest catalyst of human advancement and I believe we are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what humankind is capable of,” says Tomer Diari. “In the coming years, we will likely witness ever-accelerating cycles of technology adoption and I’m looking forward to playing a positive role in shaping and enabling the most promising companies and technologies at Bessemer.”

Tomer has built his own unique career roadmap, having joined Bessemer’s Israel investment team in 2016 and later transitioning to San Francisco. Previously, Tomer served as an officer in the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) top intelligence unit for six years, initiating cutting-edge technology projects in the fields of cyber-security, telecommunication and data infrastructure. Tomer then shifted to focus on R&D, working as a Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engineer at Allot Communications, where he applied reverse engineering and algorithms development in the telecommunication industry.

Tomer graduated summa cum laude from the honors program of business and economics at IDC Herzliya. He is also an alum of the international Global Village academic program. In 2018, Tomer was elected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree.
