Bessemer Venture Partners promotes Yael Schiff to Vice President

As a former consultant and startup operator, Yael leads with curiosity when collaborating with founders in Israel, Europe, and beyond.

Collaboration is the value that has fueled Bessemer’s long history of backing founders all around the globe. In this spirit, we celebrate Yael Schiff’s many contributions to early and growth stage software companies with her promotion to Vice President. Since joining the firm in 2021, Yael has played a vital role in providing leaders with strategic advice aimed to help them build enduring businesses. Whether in Israel’s Startup Nation, or entrepreneurial ecosystems in Europe and beyond, she’s built a reputation for going above and beyond with the founders she meets, including her peer investors.

Yael primarily makes Seed and Series A investments in Israel and Europe, with a focus on B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud infrastructure. As a lead author of the firm’s global enterprise security roadmap, she focuses on cybersecurity and enterprise tools.  She also invests in data infrastructure, developer tools, and advancements in artificial intelligence.

Yael has invested in and works most closely with Appwrite, Astrix, Legit, Preql, Sentra, Skippr, and Torq.

“Yael has made a name for herself in Israel’s tech ecosystem through her hard work, diligent analysis, and positive attitude,” shares Amit Karp, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “Yael has a commitment to intellectual honesty and excellence and is a true teammate for entrepreneurs, offering them enthusiasm and thoughtfulness during the peaks and valleys of their development.”

“Nothing excites me more than watching companies grow from founders with an idea into a team, bringing a product to market. One of the most rewarding parts of being an investor is joining founders for board meetings, where we get to pause and truly reflect on how the business is performing and what it needs to do to reach its goals,” says Yael. “Sometimes the conversations are challenging, but it's in these moments that founders and investors adapt to new realities and learn together.”

Prior to joining Bessemer, Yael worked as a consultant at McKinsey and Company and as Director of Expansion at Via Transportation. Yael earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude with a B.Sc. in industrial engineering from Tel Aviv University. Outside of work, you can find Yael riding her bike to the Tel Aviv beach, going to theater performances, and practicing yoga.
