Bessemer Venture Partners welcomes Anita Umarji as head of investor relations

We’re thrilled to announce that Anita Umarji has joined Bessemer as partner and head of investor relations. On the heels of raising $4.6 billion across two new funds last fall, we’re fortunate to welcome Anita, who brings deep roots in venture capital and investor relations.

Anita will be instrumental in leading Bessemer’s investor relations program, developing investor relationships, and managing our fundraising efforts.

With more than 15 years of experience, she joins Bessemer from Sandbox Industries, a venture capital firm focused on healthcare, insurtech, and food and agriculture. As a partner and head of investor relations at Sandbox, Anita built out the investor relations function and team, and led the development and growth of limited partner relationships. Anita previously held senior roles in global fundraising, investor relations, and strategy at distressed debt investment firms Strategic Value Partners and Bardin Hill, as well as at Apollo Global Management.
