Biography

Andrew Blotky is an operating advisor at Bessemer and brings 20 years of experience as a global internal and external communications executive. He is currently VP, Communications at Johnson & Johnson, where he leads the enterprise employee communications and the HR communications teams. Previously, he founded Azure Leadership Group, a communications agency and executive coaching practice that specializes in leadership communications, internal communications and culture, and strategic narrative development. Andrew's passions include working with leaders to communicate with confidence and authenticity, and to build thriving, inclusive organizational cultures. He is the author of Honestly Speaking: How the Way We Communicate Transforms Leadership, Love, and Life.

Prior to founding Azure Leadership Group, Andrew spent nearly five years as the director of global internal communications at Facebook where he built, created, and led the internal communications strategy and infrastructure to support employees and leaders in more than 80 global locations, across all business functions. Before joining Facebook in 2013, Andrew was the director of the legal policy and communications program at the Center for American Progress (CAP), a think tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action. At CAP, Andrew built the legal policy and communications program and led education and advocacy work to significantly improve the pace and diversity of judicial nominations during the Obama Administration. Andrew started his communications career in politics, serving as the communications director for U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and U.S. Representative Jim Turner, and worked in the White House Office of Presidential Speechwriting. He's also held roles at the Wyss Foundation and O'Melveny & Myers, and was previously an adjunct professor of public policy at Stanford University.

Andrew earned a B.A. in political science from Stanford University and holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School. In his free time, he teaches yoga and meditation, and loves to spend time at the beach and exercising, especially long-distance running and biking.
