About James

James is a generalist by design, spending two decades moving from strategy to go-to-market to product management to general management, choosing breadth over depth at every turn. He had a front-row seat to the SaaS era at LinkedIn and now to the AI era at Speak, WisdomAI, Aida, and Turing.

His career began at Bain, where he worked as a management consultant before and after business school. Then in 2010, he joined a pre-IPO LinkedIn with ~500 employees and stayed for 12.5 years, the first half in sales and marketing leadership roles, the second half in product and GM leadership roles. He helped scale LinkedIn’s recruiting business from <$100M to >$2B in 6 years, then led acquisitions and integrations for both lynda.com (a $1.5B acquisition that became LinkedIn Learning) and Glint (a $500M acquisition in the employee engagement space).

In 2024, James worked in fractional executive roles at Speak (Series C AI language app), WisdomAI (Series A Analytics), and Aida (Seed Sales Enablement). In 2025 and early 2026, he served as SVP & GM at Turing, co-founding and leading their Turing Intelligence business, helping enterprise clients deploy AI.

James loves building and helping others do the same. He has shipped 15+ apps and agents, hosts bi-weekly “Claude Code Live” building sessions and a quarterly AI Workflow Demofest, and publishes an "AI for Execs" series on LinkedIn, built on the belief that it’s a confidence gap not a capability gap.

Originally from London, James studied psychology at Stanford (BA + MA), earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, and lives in the Bay Area with his family. He is a lifelong endurance athlete - rowing, Ironman, bike racing, marathon swimming, and now Hyrox - and a compulsive reader and film enthusiast who publishes a "What's the So What?" newsletter distilling books and experiences into what matters most.
