About Rohit
Rohit Jawa is a C-Suite business leader, experienced board director and Asia Consumer expert, with nearly four decades’ experience. A member of the Unilever Global ExCo from 2023 to 2025, he has served as CEO, Chairman and Board Member of leading listed entity, subsidiaries, and JVs with extensive governance and investor relations experience.
Rohit is recognized for leading business transformation and growth in complex markets, combining digitalization, premiumization, and organizational redesign to unlock long-term value. He has an exemplary track record of building trusted brands, shaping strategy, and developing diverse leadership teams across multiple geographies.
Most recently, he served as President, Unilever South Asia and CEO & MD of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, India’s largest listed FMCG company (c.$70bn market cap). Rohit led the $7.5 bn business through portfolio and channel transformation, reigniting market share and volume led growth in a challenging consumption context. Previously, he was global Chief of Transformation for Unilever, where he deployed “Compass”, the largest-ever organizational redesign, shifting P&L accountability and financial frameworks across worldwide operations.
Prior to this, as EVP North Asia & Chair Unilever China, he turned the market into Unilever’s 3rd largest globally, delivering $3.5bn revenue with 9% CAGR and margin step change through ‘China for China’ strategy. As Chairman & CEO of Unilever Philippines, he led a globally recognized turnaround, delivering 11% CAGR and margin expansion, while scaling the business to $1.2bn revenue. His earlier Unilever career included global and regional brand leadership and general management roles across India, Vietnam and wider Asia.
Rohit’s governance and board experience spans listed entity, JVs and subsidiaries across Asia. He has also been an active contributor to industry bodies such as the CII and FICCI in India, the CGF in China, and as Founding Secretary of Food Industry Asia, Singapore.
He holds a B.Sc. from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at HBS, and senior executive programs at IMD Lausanne and HCLI Singapore. Born in India, he has made Singapore his home and is a Singapore citizen.
