Sean Brecker is an operating advisor and the chief financial officer at Headspace, the world’s most accessible, comprehensive mental health platform. Over his nine-year tenure with Headspace, Sean has held multiple positions at the company, including serving as the chief executive officer for three years, as well as a member of the Board.
In his current role, Sean serves as the driving force behind all financial and commercial matters and oversees the growth of the company. To date, he has overseen four acquisitions; led a series of funding rounds for Headspace with both equity and debt totalling approximately $250M; and in 2021, he helped architect the $3B merger with behavioral health unicorn, Ginger, resulting in the creation of an end-to-end mental health platform.
Prior to pursuing a career in the health and wellness industry, Sean had a 15-year career as a trader and originator at large investment banks, such as JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers, and Citi, in numerous locations including New York, London, and Singapore.
Sean currently serves on the Board of Directors at CoachArt, a youth organization that creates transformative arts and athletics communities for families impacted by childhood chronic illness. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Mathematics/Economics from Wesleyan University and an MBA with honors in Financial Engineering from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
