Remedio redefines Device Posture Management with its proactive remediation platform
Bessemer leads Remedio’s $65M first financing round to accelerate growth in the bootstrapped startup.
For us at Bessemer, few things inspire as much admiration as a founder who has the confidence to bootstrap their business for years before raising a cent of venture capital. Bootstrapping demands resourcefulness, unwavering commitment, and the courage to bet on customer orders to fund the business. It’s hard — which is why discovering a rapidly growing, self-sufficient startup in the cybersecurity market caught our attention. This is when we met Remedio (formerly GYTPOL) CEO and co-founder, Tal Kollender, and spoke to several of the company’s most recognized customers, like Amazon. We quickly realized that the company’s vision and future were even more exciting than its bootstrapped origin story.
Remedio is an AI-powered device posture management platform that gives enterprises full visibility into vulnerabilities arising from device misconfigurations. It can then autonomously remediate these misconfigurations to keep devices secure and compliant. Supporting both SaaS and on-premise deployments, Remedio fixes issues on the spot with built-in rollback, minimizing manual effort and disruption for organizations.
Solving the endpoint security blind spot
Enterprise cyber attacks rarely begin with elusive zero-day exploits. More often, the culprit is mundane: either someone unwittingly handed over their credentials, or a known vulnerability wasn’t properly addressed due to a misconfiguration. In other words, someone dropped their keys or left a window unlocked. Remedio zeroes in on the “unlocked entry points” across the enterprise that emerge from endpoint misconfiguration drift, the gradual divergence of device settings from up-to-date security and compliance policies. This misconfiguration drift occurs at the OS, application, and network levels due to unpatched vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, changes in device roles, human error, and the end-of-life or deprecation of software. As a result, one in three security incidents is rooted in misconfiguration, with most of these being undetected.
Device misconfigurations are a painful and costly problem for large organizations — both hard to detect and remediate without inadvertently causing a disruption. It’s one thing to know what kind of software runs on a device and its vulnerabilities, but it’s another to know an endpoint’s purpose and dependencies. The latter determines severity and priority, including the optimal remediation approach. Most legacy security tools stop at detection and alerts, but Remedio goes further by delivering continuous visibility, context-aware prioritization, and real-time remediation across hundreds of thousands of endpoints without manual effort. While not the sexiest area, this basic blocking and tackling is where most cyber practitioners spend their time and efforts, which makes Remidio’s value proposition even more compelling to most organizations.
The customer praise for Remedio
Few things are more compelling to an investor than hearing all the customer love for a startup's product directly from the customers. Remedio claims some of the world’s largest enterprises as customers, including Amazon, Kraft Heinz, Colgate-Palmolive, and Ascension Health. We can confidently say they were among the strongest vendor endorsements we’ve ever heard.
We learned that Remedio complements related security offerings from CrowdStrike and Wiz by discovering numerous vulnerabilities that have gone undetected. Unique in the cybersecurity segment, we heard about how Remedio offers a compelling ROI due to operational savings from automated remediation and rollback capabilities. Customers also marvel at Tal’s determination to solve their challenges and her fervor for Remedio’s product. The best founders recognize that their true edge lies in being as passionate about their customers' problems as they are about their startup’s solutions.
This is why we’re proud to lead Remedio’s $65 million financing, because we believe this funding will unleash Remedio’s full potential to redefine the device posture management category with sorely needed innovation. We’re excited to partner with co-founders Tal, Gilad Raz, and Yakov Kogan and the rest of the Remedio team in the next stage of their journey.
