Revolutionizing data streaming at microsecond scale with AlgoX2
Bessemer Venture Partners leads seed investment in AlgoX2 — a new standard for ultra-low latency, high-throughput, durable data infrastructure for an AI-native world.
Enterprise data infrastructure is both a call for and response to every technological shift — it enables new products and businesses, while simultaneously evolving to support the demands created by these same innovations. At Bessemer, we’ve observed the data infrastructure landscape undergoing a generational transformation, driven by powerful catalysts from the AI paradigm shift as well as an architectural revolution toward interoperability and lakehouses in a Data 3.0 era.
Data streaming tools, in particular, are taking center stage and no longer “supporting acts” in the current paradigm. They’re now a foundational component of success in the Data 3.0 era, as the speed and quality of data flows can make or break an AI-native experience. Paradigms such as Apache Kafka have shaped the industry over the past decade, but today’s world is vastly different, and tools in the “once-considered-modern” data stack are straining under the demands of new performance, cost, and latency expectations. We’ve been tracking this transformation closely. In AlgoX2, we found a team not only keeping up with this shift but defining the very frontier of data infrastructure purpose-built for the AI era.
AlgoX2 sets a new industry benchmark for real-time data streaming with a universal, near-zero-latency storage-network data plane with transactional semantics and built-in fault tolerance. Engineered as a legacy replacement, AlgoX2 is a protocol-agnostic data-streaming platform that can act as the distributed layer for Kafka, NATS, MQTT, or Redis. It delivers near-zero latency performance, supporting enterprises with requirements for the fastest data flows available and reducing costs by up to 10x compared to traditional solutions, all while democratizing streaming across protocols, teams, and clouds. As veteran technologists of the financial services industry, AlgoX2’s founders have built the platform with enterprise-grade security features, including fine-grained access controls and robust TLS encryption, ensuring safe management of mission-critical data. Driven by the team’s core principles of integrity, transparency, and respect, AlgoX2 empowers organizations to securely and easily scale their real-time applications while maintaining predictable, high-performance service levels and drastically reduced infrastructure costs.
Partnering with the world-class technologists at AlgoX2
The founders, Alexei Lebedev (CEO), Vladimir Parizhsky (CTO), and George Levin (CBO), have experienced the shortcomings of traditional data streaming tools firsthand. The team has lived on the bleeding edge of latency with all three coming from worlds that operate not in seconds or milliseconds, but microseconds. Alexei previously built and exited his company, Real-Time Geometry, before founding a high-frequency trading firm and architecting Algo M2 at AlgoTechnologies. Algo M2 was the world’s fastest matching engine at the time, clocking in at 16μs for round-trip latency — over 15 times faster than the second-best-performing engine at the time. Vlad, former Chief Systems Architect at the Bessemer-backed company Flarion (now acquired by Qualcomm), joined Alexei at AlgoTechnologies, which was subsequently acquired by Intercontinental Exchange. Post-acquisition, the team rebuilt the NYSE’s core trading architecture, launching initiatives such as NYSE Pillar and redefining performance standards for the world’s largest exchange.
While developing solutions for the NYSE, the AlgoX2 team saw how even the best-known streaming tools on the market weren’t built to meet the needs of enterprises in high-performance industries, such as financial services. They ultimately had to innovate from scratch in order to meet requirements across low-latency, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility. It was clear to them that incremental improvements on current projects were no longer enough; they needed to reimagine a new standard from first principles.
This experience inspired Alexei and Vlad to create a new industry standard around ultra-low latency streaming that delivers high throughput, all with the smallest footprint. Joining forces with George, another specialist who founded and exited real-time bidding platform Getintent, they validated their approach by building and testing a prototype data center in Alexei’s garage. The result was AlgoX2 — a drop-in solution supporting multiple protocols, achieving 50μs latency and 100M messages/sec per node, all while maintaining top-tier scalability, security, and reliability.
Bessemer is proud to back founders building foundational infrastructure for the next wave of real-time innovation. In sectors like AI and finance, where speed is critical, AlgoX2 arms organizations with a purpose-built streaming backbone, empowering them to move fast, scale with confidence, and deliver dependable performance for tomorrow’s data-driven world. This is why we’re leading AlgoX2’s seed round as the team unveils this next-generation streaming platform to the world. In a future that runs on real-time experiences, Alexei, Vladimir, and George are redefining what streaming should be: faster, leaner, and truly built for what’s next.
