Tom Obermaier

Biography

Tom is an operating partner at BVP Forge, which is the unique combination of a private equity firm for growth-oriented, self-sustaining businesses paired with access to BVP’s renowned venture platform.

Before joining BVP Forge, Tom was the CEO of SurePoint Technologies, where he expanded the company to become a legal technology global leader. Under his leadership, Surepoint grew eight-fold in two and a half years. Before SurePoint, Tom was the CEO of RDC, a global reg-tech company. He built RDC into an industry front-runner, organically growing revenue from sub-$1 million to $70 million. Goldman Sachs recognized Tom as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs in 2015.

Tom served as a senior risk management executive before becoming a CEO, working at Citi, Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust.

Tom holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University and a J.D from Fordham University School of Law. In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with family, traveling, sailing, photography, cooking and following most New York sports teams.
