Emilio Escobar is an operating advisor at Bessemer where he brings over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of security and engineering.
Emilio currently serves as the chief information security officer (CISO) at Datadog, the cloud-native company that focuses on analyzing machine data. At Datadog, Emilio is responsible for all IT, security, governance, risk management, compliance, and customer trust & safety functions. Prior to joining Datadog in 2020, he spent over four years at Hulu leading the information security team where he played a pivotal role in setting up key security functions. Emilio has held several other positions at companies including PlayStation, SafeNet, HP, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Emilio earned a B.S. in computer science from the Universidad de Puerto Rico. In his free time, Emilio enjoys spending time with his family by going to the beach, hiking, camping, and paying attention to his french bulldog.
